Our contracting immunization partner is Southwest Pharmacy, an approved provider, and a New Mexico corporation that has been providing immunizations for over 14 years.
Although some employees have had the Hepatitis B vaccine, Hepatitis A is also prevalent in southern New Mexico. This disease is transmitted via contaminated food in restaurants. You have an opportunity to economically and conveniently immunize your entire family against both of these dangerous diseases.
Children over 11 years of age and especially college-bound dependents are at risk for contracting meningitis, and can be immunized against this life-threatening illness with a single vaccination.
GARDASIL was approved to protect against the four types of HPV that cause most cases of cervical cancer. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is recommending all women between the ages of 9 and 26 receive this vaccine. More recently the FDA has approved Gardasil for the prevention of genital warts in young men 9 to 26 years of age
ZOSTAVAX is now available to guard against “Shingles”, a latent chicken pox infection that can cause extreme pain and discomfort, and is intended for individuals over 60 years of age.
The www.southwestpharmacy.com website will be a valuable resource for information regarding the vaccines offered by Southwest Pharmacy.
We are pleased to offer these services as part of your wellness benefit and encourage you to keep all vaccinations current. Those individuals without insurance may also take advantage of this program, but will be charged a fee for each vaccination.
