We are your New Mexico State University Health Education Team, housed in the lively Activity Center. We all work VERY hard to put together fun, educational, and interactive information and resources for the NMSU community on a variety of health topics. Events are determined by student interest and need. Please refer to the contact information below if you would like more information on any events or materials, to collaborate on an event, or would like us to host a topic-specific presentation for your class, group, or club!

Health Education Specialist
Kirsta Bezenek, BCH
Kirsta is a former student-athlete as well as a former Campus Health Center Peer Educator. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelors degree in Community Health in May, 2014. Spurred by a passion for helping people and for the field of public health, she has worked in the field of public health with a special focus and emphasis on prevention since graduating. Kirsta is happy to be a part of the campus Health & Wellness team once again and is excited to continue helping equip the NMSU-Las Cruces community to strive towards healthy lifestyles by promoting preventative behaviors through health education. In her spare time, Kirsta enjoys running, swimming, hiking, fishing, reading and spending time talking and visiting with family and friends.
I am a senior at NMSU pursuing a Bachelors degree in Public Health and I am set to graduate in May. During her field experience, she hopes to gain more knowledge on creating events to better serve the NMSU community about different public health issues. She would also like to gain useful tools to take with her during her near future employment opportunities. My long-term goals are to move out-of-state to find a good job in the Public Health field to ensure myself and my family have a successful life. Outside of school, I work two jobs as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and enjoy spending time with my significant other and two dogs at home. My partner and I are expecting our first child together in May, right after I graduate, so I’m planning on taking a break from both school and work to relax and to enjoy being a mother.
I am a senior at NMSU pursuing a Bachelors in Public Health. I am expected to graduate this May. After graduation, I hope to attend nursing school and eventually become a Public Health Nurse. Outside of school I enjoy hiking and exploring new places around town. This semester, I hope to bring health awareness to the NMSU community by engaging her school knowledge and putting it into practice. I am excited to be part of the team this semester! 🙂
